December 15, 2019:

-waiting until the last minute to complete college applications at least eliminates investing too much time or effort into them, and if you’re lucky, some deadlines will pass and you won’t need to apply

-While printing a holiday update on the back of the card is much prettier, you could write a whole lot more and really wait until the last minute, by printing the message at home yourself.

-even though you are angry with your parents and don’t want to follow their advice, you should probably ice after you have your wisdom teeth removed to minimize swelling.  Your tomorrow morning self will thank you.

December 1, 2019:

-a netti pot and a dining room table set for Thanksgiving are not a good fit

-if you would like an early acceptance from a college, you need to apply to at least 1 college early

-a car windshield cover is only effective if you put it on the windshield before it snows

November 24, 2019:

-attending a soccer game in the ultra cold? Wear lots of layers!  We’re talking 2 pairs of socks, plus winter boots; 3 pairs of pants; 3 top layers, plus fleece, plus ski jacket; 2 pairs of gloves; hand warmers; and a hat.  And, don’t forget blankets to sit on AND to cover up with.  Go Team!

-if you are older and pretend to not realize you are sneaking into a soccer game without paying, you will save some money, but your grandchildren will be upset with you – is it worth it?

-if you hide a puzzle piece, you are guaranteed to be the one to finish the puzzle  

November 15, 2019:

-you have to actually wear your hearing aids, if you would like them to work

-it is best to paint with oil-based paint during warmer weather when you can open the windows for fresh air

-don’t assume driver’s ed teaches teens to park on the right side of the road or to actually have their license with them when they are driving

November 9, 2019:

-when you report for a sleep study, the staff appreciate it if you at least bring a toothbrush with you to combat morning breath

-an automatic withdrawal may be deactivated if your account balance is zero, even if you have overdraft funds available

-sometimes your teenagers argue with you for their own entertainment

November 2, 2019:

-hearing aids need to be turned on to actually work

-check the word count requirements on college applications BEFORE you answer the question

-changing Halloween costumes midway through the evening, allows you to visit homes more than once
