Social Distancing in Vermont
We are lucky enough to call Vermont our second home and there is no better time to be able to enjoy it than now. Fortunately, spending time outside allows us to enjoy many activities in a socially distanced fashion, while the change in scenery during this “lockdown” time is priceless.
Hiking. A short hike with just water and some snacks or a longer hike with lunch for the summit are equally fun for our family. We like to hike by water to enjoy an extra diversion.
Kayaking. For me, kayaking is the most relaxing activity of all time. Paddling out onto a peaceful pond surrounded by trees and birds and beautiful views of the mountains….I like to dip my feet in and just savor the moment.
Swimming. For many, swimming in a lake is not on their to do lists, but for me, it is exquisite. Floating on your back, with your ears beneath the water line, it is just you, the sun, the sky, and the mountains.
During the height of the pandemic, we brought all of our food with us and did not enter any stores. Now, we still bring most of our food, but we also like to enjoy our local favorites. We find using take-out only allows us to support the local economy, while keeping everyone safe.
